    The Ides of March

This was a very enjoyable movie. Too subtle for most viewers, judging from the reviews. A well-cast character study about power and its ability to corrupt. An often-explored theme but worth seeing because of the acting. While the direction was a bit uneven, Clooney said much without a whole lot of dialogue and this made it a more satisfying movie as everything wasn't explicitly laid out for the viewer. The movie gave us credit for having some brains and familiarity with the US electoral landscape. If this isn't your cup of tea, why see it? West Wing fans will enjoy it, especially with the American Primaries starting up, Phillip Seymour Hoffman, Ryan Gosling, Clooney et al were a fine ensemble cast.
