I'm a Vacation guy from way back, the original was always on TV. This one has none of the charm of the original. There are some good laughs, but mostly it seemed forced. I waited around for the ending so I could see Chevy, but that wasn't worth it, either. Beverly looked really weird, too bad, I liked her. What bothered me most was the seven year old boy swearing at everyone. I'm not sure what the point of that was, but it was really embarrassing to see; another Hollywood subversive subcontext. Oh, can't forget the swastika, a Hollywood movie wouldn't be complete without reference to the Holocaust.
