Not simply a complexly constructed disaster movie, "28 Days Later" features Apocalypse, and suggests the Biblical rise of the Beast as possessing the human race from within, leading to Armageddon. This is a repeated theme of horror movies these days, and this film's director Danny Boyle used it in "Trainspotting" where the demon Heroin unleashes the Destroyer of youth, representatives of the future."28 Days Later" ends on a note like "Lord of the Flies, " as if London was revealed as a sort of experimental lab for the Last Judgement, monitored by military helicopters.
