Although this movie is light and funny, it is a very bold movie. Torturro takes a look at the treatment of women and generally gives them a lot of power. He should be given a lot of credit for tackling the treatment of women in fundamentalist sects within OUR own society. It isn't anti-semitic at all, and in fact shows the issues facing these adherents with respect to women and children in a modern, information packed culture. That is why I think the court scene was necessary. There is a lot more to this movie than Woody's humorous banter and Torturro's banal looks.
