Strange story of life of a dysfunctional family in New York City. The director/producer has a fascination with mammography for some reason... bizarro?!

I wondered about the breast thing too, at first. I think it is symbolic and ironic that the woman whose mother commits suicide and whose grandmother is a bitter old woman who takes and gives only negativity, is working to diagnose the toxicity in women's breasts. Breasts normally give nourishment, yet her mother's and grandmother's were symbolically toxic, both to their daughters and to themselves. It was as if the whole family was living with a cancer from generation to generation, and we see this manifesting in the woman's sister too. Even the sister is employed to squeeze toxicity out of the skin, but like the sister's ability to connect and give and take, this healing only goes "skin deep." Rebecca is able to look deeper than that. The title "Please Give" also reflects the giving/taking issues that follow all the characters. The more I've thought about this, the more profound it seems to me. It's one way to think about it anyway.
