    The Homesman

A very graphic depiction of settling the west, and of the people who did it. Not the iconic picture of the proud heroic American forging new territory. Just a realistic view of the dark side of hope, and where it can lead. A very powerful story and exceptional acting. In a way it is a little like a documentary about a single forgettable event in the annals of civilization moving west across North America. It is a very unsettling movie (pun not intended)
