My friend, who insisted on going to this movie, fell asleep during one of the many self-indulgent and long winded exposition scenes during the middle of the movie. Brad is unbelievable as the leader of the troop. The film is basically amoral, putting the Jewish victims willing to perform acts to the Nazis every bit as objectionable as were done to them, even relishing in the torture, both physical and psychological of their prisoners. As with most of Tarantino's films, the violence is extremely graphic and somewhat nauseating to watch. It is also unpleasant as the "heroes", with whom we are supposed to identify, in the film relish in the graphic torture they inflict on their prisoners.

What could be more "self-indulgent" than considering the best (if somewhat slow moving) scenes in any movie in recent history, not worthy of YOUR attention? Have another Red Bull and go watch Transformers 2 instead. [...]
Your first sentence is a run-on sentence. You are trying to put too many thoughts in just one phrase and your intent becomes confusing to the reader. I presume you are looking for a movie which has exposition without killing the tempo of the movie? Have a look at Casablanca. I also didn't like the obvious plot failure in Tarantino's movie of the lack of security by the Nazis when all their top brass is in one place. Wouldn't there have been guards on both sides of the doors? Please, expect more from a movie you consider "the best".
I don't understand what you thought this movie was going to be about. Did you not see the previews stating Brad Pitt wanted "100 Nazi Scalps"? OF COURSE there were graphic scenes and OF COURSE it was a little bit unbelievable... because it NEVER HAPPENED. No one said you had to identigy with a jewish man bashing in the head of a Nazi... the idea behind it is that perhaps you can laugh a little, and call it revenge.

Click here to show this comment. It was unbelievable because certain critical plot points did not hold water. It is clear that the intention of Tarantino does intend for the audience to identify and chear for the atavistic beating of the Nazi with a baseball bat or inscribing the swastika on a forehead so deeply as to reasonably cause a lobotomy. Tarantino is lucky to have such uncritical adolescents such as yourself to think his work is "genius".
