Jane Eyre is my favourite novel, and no movie will ever capture its wide scope, so I always notice what's been left out due to time constraint. This version, however, did well in covering the basics and the performances, particularly that of Jane herself, were excellent. My only criticism is the end was too abrupt in relation to the novel, but I thought starting in the middle and showing her childhood in flashbacks worked very well on screen.
