Johnny Depp as the chameleon has as much fun as he did voicing The Corpse Bride. This gorgeously photographed animated effort is wicked clever as well as amusing. There are all sorts of references to past Western flicks (eg. There is a Lee Van Cleef character in the form of slithery snake, a Clint Eastwood "Spirit of the West" being and a hawk with a metal nose like that found on Lee Marvin in Cat Ballou) Perhaps, the characters are too ugly;thus making the movie less kid-friendly. But, it's a hoot for adults, particularly; for those who are diehard cinephiles. Well done, Hollywood.
