Billy Bob's best work, and likely will always be. He is truly convincing in his role. Also, John Ritter has his greatest performance, granted he had few if any other big dramatic attempts in his career, but still he too was so very convincing in his role. Dwight Yoakam is surprisingly solid in his role as a pretty unlikeable dude. The movie is a slow and steady drama but it's never boring and has you on your toes the entire time. One of the greatest movies ever made.
