Click here to show this review. If you are a big fan of the marvel franchise or super hero movies in general this is a pretty good one. Some good Thor out of place with humans gags while he's on earth and particularly while he's powerless but doesn't quite get it yet. Asgard looks pretty cool. The CGI looks pretty convincing. For the rest of it, the good vs evil story is nothing unfamiliar and the story isn't any deeper than it needs to be. FWIW, my favorites of the super hero genre have been The Hellboy shows by a long shot, and the Incredible Hulk, largely because that one had a little more depth in terms of story and character, though many actually found it boring. My other favorites were the first Spider-Man or Tim Burton's first Batman or the most previous Batman with Christian Bale. For me the X-Men Series is on par with this show. I'd say it was considerably better than Iron Man. I point these out for reference because when reading someone's review it's useful to know what they liked previously in similar genres. The 3D is quite unremarkable and falls into the cash grab category again as so many movies these days do. Bottom line, pretty good super hero flick, nothing more, nothing less. The ladies will like Thor with his shirt off and that will likely skew their votes to the upside. For the guys, Natalie Portman doesn't bother slipping into anything less comfortable so their judgement will largely be focused on the colorful action and Thor's other Hammer, Mjolnir.
