I found this movie to be very tense, very atmospheric. It's not easy to breath new life into a vampire/horror genre flick, but this one did a pretty good job. It was certainly scary enough for me, and nobody else in the theatre was laughing it up either. I'm not a Hartnett fan, but he did a fine job, as did just about everybody else in the picture. The bouncy camera movement wasn't overly offensive and there weren't any really over-the-top FX to take you out of the story. The story's graphic novel roots showed, but in a good way... lots of artistic shots and tableaus, and nicely handled character set pieces. All in all I liked this movie better than a lot of pictures that came out with a lot more fanfare and hype. Nitpickers will have lots to talk about, but again, there was nothing that took me out of the story. It was a lot better than I expected given some of the reviews and online buzz...
