As a gangster movie, it's just okay. The film moves slowly and lacks energy. Johnny Depp, however is quite good in his performance as a low life thug and will probably, at the very least, get an Oscar nomination for his role. It's too bad Martin Scorsese didn't direct this movie. He's a director who knows how to make a great gangster film.
