Intellectually & physically above average.".. The 6 children who range in different ages obey their dad without ever questioning his actions."
So their unit is almost Cult like. The dad is idealistic to a fault at times.."It is when a family tragedy occurs & they are forced to leave this existence & re-enter back into the mainstream of society that you start seeing their dysfunctions. This is played out in a very interesting way."As a viewer you begin to compare their behavior & lack of social skills to the mundane actions of the people they are now surrounded by"& ask what's the trade off in all of this? Vitto Mortensen as the father give's a great performance.".. As do all the young actors who play the siblings."The movie has a genuine feel to it. & at the end it has you asking "What is an authentic life. ? "
