A pretty unsatisfying look at a period in English history in which the Monarchy was deposed in favour of Cromwell and his particular brand of non-monarchical government. Everyone knows what happens because of our studies of English History so there's no use in repetition. I'm pretty sure it was Sir Alec Guiness playing Cromwell and I wasn't that satisfied. As you all know, the Monarchy was restored, never to leave British shores again.
