This is a classic made during the golden era of film making. Probably one of the best known Hollywood movies ever made in Hawaii. An all-star cast with Burt Lancaster, Montgomery Clift, Deborah Kerr, Donna Reed, Ernest Borgnine, etc… And of course, let’s not forget Frank Sinatra who gives the best performance of them all in the role of the memorable Angelo Maggio. The story focuses on the problems, inner desires, and ultimate fate of the various characters just before the attack on Pearl Harbour in World War II. The movie effectively mixes humour with drama. The cinematography, with the beautiful setting of Hawaii, is also first rate. Let’s not forget that this film gives one the most famous scenes in the history of motion pictures – the beach scene between Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr. This is a movie you will remember for a long time…
