Ethan Hawke seems to thrive on bringing pertinent issue related topics to light, and on film. He's also a writer of some note, so story and character development in the wheel house there.
This would be a pretty fair stage play, surely one that'd receive plaudits.
Agree, with those who say the title isn't level to the depth in the film.
This small ensemble cast, works well together, although notable in my view was Zoe Kravitz. She has an emotive countenance.
Bruce Greenwood, delivered ably, as well.
January Jones chooses interesting parts, is solid here, if a tad cool. I think she tensioned her part well.
Hawke in the lead, very accessible performance, at showing what's going on in his head.
Nod too, to the ultra cameo Peter Coyote work, whose identity gnawed at me until a "eureka" moment.
You'll have to bring room for some challenges, and cerebral reaches before really accepting the film, and maybe the message. I think that's all this projects asks, rightfully enough.
