Before there was Downton Abbey there was Gosford Park, a remarkable drama of the privileged and those who serve them in the England of 1932. Julian Fellows's screenplay is very smart indeed illustrating how problems are not confined to one class. The acting honours go to all the players, in particular to Oscar Nominees Dames Maggie Smith and Helen Mirren. The film was nominated for many Oscars and deservedly so.
