Max von Sydow and Liv Ullman do a great job in this Ingmar Bergman film from 1968. They would go on to perform in several other Bergman movies. Bergman gives us the hallmark of the true nightmare movie, a personal nature of horror. This film is almost an ideal to which all horror flicks should aspire.
