It's taken them twenty years to make a sequel to Independence Day. You would think with all that time on their hands they would have been able to make a good one. Independence Day 2 is nowhere near as good as the original. The acting, the story, the plot, are all an pretty lame but that's okay because this movie isn't about art. It's about blowing things up and in that department the film does succeed. I saw it in Imax 3D and I have to say that visually, the film was not bad, if only they had a better story. Judging from the way the film ends, a sequel is certainly in the works and it too will be big and loud and and empty of anything else that makes for a good movie.
