This is one of the more accessible films from the Coen Brothers. If by some chance you're not familiar with their work, you'll be drawn in by the great (folk) music soundtrack and gentle humour throughout. The multi-talented Oscar Isaac performs his own songs, and handles the lead role well. Justin Timberlake and Carey Mulligan were average. And I'm not sure what purpose John Goodman served; it seems like the Coen Brothers feel the need to just include him in every movie. On the downside, there are no sympathetic characters in the story, except perhaps the cat. I give it a 7 out of 10, but add 1 point if you're a Coen Brothers fan.
