Might not sound like a true tale, but it very much is! A young man gives up his small fortune after graduation for a trip that will transform his life. The supporting cast, all characters that make life just a little more special for the protagonist (Emile Hirsch in a BREAKOUT ROLE) are terrific Especially so are Catherine Keener and octogenarian Oscar Nominee Hal Holbrook in his one and only nomination. The movie has one problem. At almost two and a half hours, the wandering about truly becomes a bit too noisome. If edited by some half hour it would have been a much greater film.
