Director David'O'Russell brings an off beat quirky approach to this film which at times comes off as ridiculous and corny. The only saving grace in this film is Jennifer Lawrence. She elevates each scene with her intense and convincing characterization of Joy Mangano, the inventor of the Miracle Mop. Against all odds she created a " miracle" just to get her invention recognized. Robert De Niro as the father... Virginia Madsen as the mom and Dianne Lane as the grandmother, all came across as dysfunctional props. What a waste of such talented actors.
