Meryl Streep's performance as Julia Child was flawless. For fun after seeing the film, see some Julia Child clips on youtube or do it before you view the film so that you understand the stellar level of her portrayal. Wearing a single strand of pearls is already a trend visible on the streets and in the subways of Toronto, probably elsewhere too. What is most contagious though is attitude. Julia found her niche and so did Julie, not an easy task for women "back then" and not much easier now really. Although long by current movie standards, for me it could have been longer still because I was in movie heaven.
