I don't know. Kumiko was a hard person to like. Although we see her beset upon and walked all over by her boss and co-workers at the outset, it becomes increasingly clear that she is loosing her grip on reality as she runs away from responsibility and from those who try very hard to help her. My experience was to shift from empathy and pity to dislike for someone who appears to be bonkers. Some may think of her as some sort of "holy fool" and others may view her as an unappealing, overbearing obsessive. Perhaps, this is something for discussion. But, about this movie, I just don't know.
