This adaptation comes from the play first produced at Stratford Ontario about a year or so after its stage appearance at the Shakespearean Festival. It received rave notices both on stage and as a film. It's long at almost three hours so get ready for a marathon of a disfuntional family, each with his/her particular vice. Very engrossing. I was more partial to the B & W cinematography of the 1962 version with Kate Hepburn. But this is solid film making!
