Mad Max:Fury Road is the kind of glorious remake I didn't think possible in this day and age. My expectations were already sky high given the fact that original writer/director George Miller masterminded this rebirth, but never in my wildest dreams did I imagine it would be this good. Yes this remake is better than The Road Warrior, itself an action classic and by far the best of the original Max trilogy. Topping that landmark film instantly catapults Fury Road into the upper echelon of action classics. Visceral, visual bombardments abound in what basically amounts to a 2 hour car chase, featuring epic crashes, God-like stunt work and an array of weirdo characters that would make Tod Browning smile from above. With pacing that could only be described as utterly breathless, the film simply never lets up for a moment, and by its conclusion, deposits its audience back in their seats, sweating, convulsing and with a dizzying aura of glee. Those expecting a narrative should look elsewhere, for what little dialogue there is, is mostly shouted or unintelligible, though I doubt anyone would notice or care. Tom Hardy is good as Max, though this film could have just as easily been titled Mad Maxeen: Fury Road, for all the grit and bad-ass awesomeness that Charlize Theron brings to the table as Imperator Furiosa. A brilliant exercise in auto carnage, a monumental directorial achievement for Miller, and a top tier candidate for the best action film of the new millennium. Just WOW.

Great review I wished I wrote it lol. But really as much as I agree with you, do you really think "sweating, convulsing and with a dizzying aura of glee" makes for a good formulaic description and is scaring people away lol... it's not a ride at the PNE - lol. Just my two cents, much more fun than a thrill ride which sometimes cost the same but 1/20th the time spent. Great review, I just wondered why with your great review why it only scored an 8 which only makes me wonder what kind of words you would have for a masterpiece? Maybe just three as in like, go see it? - lol, cheers mate!
