Fury Road was my pick for movie of the year, although I knew it would never happen. A taut, action packed movie frought with symbolism and themes (the 99% vs. The 1%, the oppression of women, sex slaves and human trafficking, the blurred line between politics and religion, the lack of independent thougth that goes into making a society a society, life changes, survival relying on the ability of humans to adjust and adapt, etc) When it first came out, the reviewers I heard speak about it said it had no plot and was filled with senseless action. They could not have been looking at the same movie I saw. It's not for everyone, but if you like it, you'll love it. Or not.
