A drinking problem, deception, lies, infidelity, economic ruin, parental-child conflicts were all elements found in this family drama, one that Eugene O’Neill at his darkest, would have been proud to have authored. The problem with this movie was that it could not decide if it was indeed the drama I described above or a romantic comedy. The feeble attempts at humour did not work for me and though one might expect a happy ending for these characters after years of therapy, the quick easy one provided in this script was just not believable, in my opinion.
