NO is a brilliant cliche-free telling of how the NO campaign came together in Pinochet's Chile, and how it succeeded in ending his reign. It integrates the personal life of the hero and documentary footage seamlessly, keeping us on the edge of our seats, sometimes laughing, sometimes anxious, always fascinated, as this heroic slice of history unfolds. NO is complex, multi-layered, nuanced, understated, yet completely accessible and riveting. A must-see for film goers who like meaty, meaningful cinema. And Gael Garcia Bernal carries the film (deceptively effortlessly) on his shoulders. A superb performance with no trace of "acting".
