    Possession

A remarkable horror film from France starring international legend Isabelle Adjani who won both the César (French Oscar) and Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival of 1981. It starts as a fairly simple premise of a woman (Anna) who wants a divorce from her husband Mark (Sam Neil) As he pursues her, her behaviour becomes more erratic till it all leads to a downward spiral of unimaginable dread. This is quite a good horror film that did well in Europe but was butchered by 30 minutes for American audiences so the whole piece is out of joint and seems to make little sense. If you see this, you must see the entire European version, not the American one.
