Great rendition of the true story regarding Jesse Owens and his accomplishments in the 1936 Summer Olympic Games. Incredible performances by all the cast – Stephan James, Jason Sudeikis, David Kross, etc… The movie is more than just about track and field but also deals with race, country, politics, marriage, family, fame, and endurance. The film does not hold back but shows all the insensitivities and injustices of that era. The movie also does a good job to show the highs and lows of the main character – Jesse Owens. First rate costume, make up, set design, and cinematography allows viewers to feel as if they are themselves in the 1930s. This is a superb production that is both entertaining and educational.
