    Scrooge

While there have been so many film adaptations of Charles Dickens’ famous novel “Christmas Carol”, this 1951 film version is probably the most well-known one. This is a Christmas holiday classic I have seen so many times over the years. Alastair Sim is phenomenal playing Ebeneezer Scrooge and the supporting cast all around him are superb. The set design, costume, and makeup all add to the richness of the movie where you actually feel you are at London in the 1840’s during Christmas. Great to see the true meaning of Christmas being communicated. While there are some minor departures from the novel, this film adaptation is truly exceptional and memorable.
