Movies are intended to entertain, educate, inspire and move the audience. David Oyelowo's performance of Dr. King did this and more. Mr. Oyelowo captured the very essence of the man we grew up watching for a few short years in the '60's. Given the issues in the States today with the police/justice depts/Blacks it is a must see to examine the horrific history of the civil rights fight of the 60's versus the misery of today. I was educated, entertained and inspired by this beautiful movie concerning a nasty / ugly piece of history. The only question is why did Oprah garner a Golden Globe nomination when her role is very, VERY small... ahhh the politics of just being O. W. Ignore that and go for the incredible story telling, acting, cinematography and directing - all are superior and above all... we cannot under estimate the power of learning about the past - good, bad & ugly!!
