Synecdoche, New York

This film had the most glowing reviews and it certainly wallops an enormous punch in terms of thoughts and ideas regarding a whole range of subjects, some very important, but it somehow has languished since being released. In his directorial debut, Charlie Kaufman does some very good work, but it unfortunately has fallen on deaf ears. I missed this feature when first released, and trust me, it wasn't a pleasant experience viewing it on my own. There were a few laughs, but I simply was not in the mood for a slice on the woes of life! It really is sad when such a well-intentioned film goes belly up in the worst of ways.
