Sadly this is only an idea for a movie, not a fully realized script. Much of what happens is too much "on the nose", one dimensional with no subtlety, nuance or layers. There are no fully-fleshed out characters having real relationships, and much of the humour is predictably obvious and slightly puerile. It's too long for an episode of a television sitcom, but without the depth, wit, or quality of acting to make it a credible offering in a theatre. Surely Telefilm could exercise more quality control over what it invests in! This movie only reinforces the stereotype that English Canada more often than not fails when it makes feature films.
