    The Black Cat

    Reviewed by

This is the first and best known of the films that brought together the two great stars of classic horror, Boris Karloff and Bela Lugosi. 1935 would see them in The Raven. Of their four films together The Black Cat is the most remarkable of the lot. It most certainly casts a complexity in its themes and implications. Director Edgar Ulmer admitted readily that the movie had nothing to do with the Egar Allan Poe famous story but credited just to bring the film more attention.
