The Black Stallion is a memorable film based on the 1941 children’s classic novel written by Walter Farley. What a wonderful and original story about a boy and a wild Arabian horse. This is a film celebrating the “joie de vivre”. This is a unique motion picture with beautiful cinematography and breath taking camera shots of nature and the wild. The music and special effects used also work very well with the plot. Of course, Cass Ole, the Arabian horse who plays the role of the Black Stallion, and all the other horses are magnificent and the true stars of this movie. Honourable mention goes also for the solid performances delivered by Kelly Reno and Mickey Rooney. This was the first movie I ever saw – what a pleasure to see this again and to bring back some happy childhood memories.
