The Book of Eli is the right movie for our cynical times. It delivers some of the best "action" (fight) scenes I have seen while not neglecting to tell a very interesting story. The characters are fascinating; believable and not overdone. The acting is superb. This film manages to spit in the eye of charlatans like Pat Robertson while prodding the cynics among us to open our eyes to what we cannot see. My only complaint is that there were a couple of "loose threads" in the plot: notably a couple of vague and unexplained references to some type of leprous survivors who are never seen. Other than that, this is the best of the post-apocalypse flicks ever, beating even Mad Max Road Warrior and A Boy and His Dog. I'll see it again.

Like the review except the 'vague and unexplained reference to leprous survivors' WAS seen. Not leprosy but cannablisim.
I think this reviewer means when people checked his hands for signs of something... I can't think of anything that would show someone is canibal?
