The actors performed well and were convincing, for the most part. BUT the main story which is a trial, was far below most Law and Order episodes. I was shocked at how dumb the prosecution lawyers were. It wasn't so much that McConaughey was a clever trial lawyer, it was simply that the prosecution was stupid. There were no real elements of surprise. And the ending had more loose ends than Rip Torn's toupe. I suppose the director thought we had been sitting long enough so the denoument was short and left the audience wondering... what about this? What about that?.. This would be a good made-for-television only because of the lead actor's charm... but the story was lukewarm.
