First, the good stuff. There are two or three moments which are laugh-out-loud funny. Miley Cyrus does what she has to. Seth Rogen is almost very good. The rest of this mess is badly constructed, tedious, mindless, puerile, empty, lazily written and witless and too stupid to be offensive. If your comedy standard is, let's say, Ghost Busters, this comes nowhere close. If it's Bridesmaids, this falls far short. If it's Bad Santa, this fails the grade. In other words, save your money, stay away, it doesn't cut it. Oh, wait, if you're 13 years old and don't get out much and your parents don't let you use a laptop or smartphone, some parts of The Night Before will seem daringly hilarious. Anyone else, beware! You've been warned!
