This is a good looking film, and pretty inoffensive. The visual is rather nice. Really hoped for a General rating smash, tho'. Ben Stiller seems a well networked, creative chap, but never works for me. He always telegraphs the punchline, or gravity of a scene before it evolves. Sort of "here it comes, what'd I tell ya, eh, eh? " Kristen Wiig was fine, always is. Adam Scott was despicable, so very effective. Unfortunately, real life offers too many templates for his character. Completely fine as a rental, but limp on pace, and meandering. In other hands, this subject could've really had traction. Verging into fantasy, is scant excuse for no credibility Years ago, William Windom played Mitty's creator Thurber in a very good TV series. Too cerebral for primetime so short lived, but a better legacy.
