    The Seventh Seal

The Seventh Seal was considered a masterpiece from its release date and is considered a masterpiece today. Ingmar Bergman touches on themes that would remain with him all his life such as spirituality, life as we know it on earth and in an exceptional way the entire concept of death. It is a film of intelligence. No one would ever deny that Bergman was an intellectual many times over. The film, however, proved too dark and sombre and the medieval aspect of it wasn't to my liking.
