This one is DOA. With a preposterous plot and incompatible stars what we have is a Hitchcock wannabe that remains just that. There is likely more excitement and entertainment in a standard session of the Canadian Senate. This is all too bad, because the director is a former oscar winner and the writing team is comprised of pros. Too bad about the stars as well. Angelina Jolie in the Audrey Hepburn-type role is smashingly glamourous but plastic. Johnny Depp's leading man would not be out-of-place in an episode of tv's Big Bang Theory. The scenery, however, is sheer delight for theatre seat travelerers. There nearly are all the right ingredients here but this souffle doesn't rise.
