'TWITW' is Fritz lang's 1944 film noir with Edward G. Robinson, as good as he always is. The story relies too much on co-incidence not to mention a fact that would hardly ever happen back in the mid-forties. Good to see Joan Bennett in another starring role before scandal would riddle her life in the fifties. What ensues after the meeting of the two stars becomes a story saturated with deep and dark mystery, all laced with fear. Canadian Raymond Massey makes a welcome appearance.
