Two parts means more money and hopefully bigger payoff. But, director David Yates has elaborately sucked the life out of Harry Potter. There are deleted scenes I had seen following the DVD release and was astonished they were not used in this movie. Part 1 of this finale gives us a dreary and dull atmosphere which drags on until the end of a disappointing swindle. I was okay with the first hour of the film, it is just far too slow. I truly appreciate the solid filmmaking, performances and moody sequences of horror. The storytelling is dark and very threatening, this one never comes through. The Deathly Hallows Part 1 may be a strong building block, but this is not Twilight, David Yates has completely left behind the heart and soul of Harry Potter and over-hyped a boring letdown.
