This was a fascinating and powerfully evocative film. Anyone who studies computer science is aware of Alan Turing, and the contribution he made. It is also a moving depiction of how far we have come in tolerating differences. While sometimes I wonder how much I have been manipulated emotionally in a film, this was truly a heartbreaking story, and I spent several minutes in my seat, wishing to compose myself before leaving theatre. This film covers such a gamut of emotions, from the shared pain of childhood trauma to the exuberance of finally finding the key to code. But most interesting to me was its honest depiction of how war can be and is manipulated through the dissemination of information, and the subterfuge which accompanies global conflict. This is not relegated to the past, but is the reality of our world on a daily basis. This is one of the best films I've ever seen.
