This movie so completely missed the mark, and failed miserably to engage the audience emotionally. It was long and boring, and even the gorgeous scenery, put in as a backdrop, never evoked feelings or awe. Where this young woman sought to walk herself into the woman her mother raised her to be (? ) she did not change much that I could see over the course of her quest. She still was a sex addict that would jump into bed with the first opportunity and glass of wine. The scenes that were meant to evoke fear of her being raped were hollow and silly, stereotyping people beyond belief. The ending was sudden, unsatisfying, and ridiculous. It was like a young child's story that suddenly ends because they just want to be finished and have run out of ideas. Don't waste your money on this one.

Yes agree with you - was excited to see it but it really lacked an emotional connection for me. It therefore became bland despite the scenic backdrop. I don't feel it is an Oscar worthy performance by RWitherspoon; just not compelling enough.
I totally agree. I should have listened to you. What a waste of time and money.
