The Book of Eli was a pretty good movie. It all starts out in a post-apocalyptic future, where everything is ravaged and there are but few survivors. You are introduced to the main character early, Eli, but althrough the movie he remains mysterious, which is a really good thing. He is sober and there are no frivolities, which means there is no conversation wasted on dumb and pointless stuff. All the characters were well portrayed, except maybe a few clichés here and there. There is not much action, which alot of people seem to be complaining about, but in this movie it's also a good thing. I mean, who needs another kung fu super hero. This movie kind of reminded me of the 1st Mad Max. Everybody knows this movie conducts a 'religious' message, but in my opinion it's more about spirituality than Christianism itself. It makes you think about what is the meaning of life, how we value the people around us, and where we are heading as humans, which is why it's getting such a low score, meaning the movie is really good. If you want a movie with a meaning, something to entertain your brain, with some action included, you must see this one. I wouldn't see it twice, but it does deserve a 9 because I don't see anything bad I could say about it.
