I really enjoyed this movie! Jackie Chan was excellent in his role as teacher! He demonstrated some dramatic acting chops in this film I never knew he had - and I'm a big fan! He is more than just a comic actor and this movie makes that clear. Jaden Smith was pretty good, as well. He had some silly shirtless moments in the movie that made me chuckle (he's a skinny, little kid for Pete's sake!) but he made up for them by performing his role with a simple sincerity that perfectly suited the film. Lessons about respect, and discipline, and facing one's fear strengthened the movie's impact, as well. One word of warning, though: This will be a difficult movie to watch for anyone whose mind has been withered to nothing by a steady diet of frantic video games and bloodthirsty t. v. The movie is not in a hurry to get to the fighting. Relationships and life lessons constitute the majority of this films content. Go, watch and enjoy!
